Dearly loved Friends,
One of the National Spiritual Assembly’s most urgent objectives is the purchase of a residential centre. Owning such a venue will greatly enhance our ability to strengthen the training institute process with the hosting of regular intensive campaigns, tutor encounters, junior youth and youth gatherings, and family camps. It will also provide a venue for institutional meetings, seminars and many other types of gatherings of the friends. The search for such a venue has made considerable strides in recent weeks and it is the National Assembly’s hope to have a property purchased and functioning within the coming months at a location between London and Oxford.
In anticipation of the acquisition of such a centre, the National Assembly is seeking to appoint one or more venue managers and would like to hear from friends who are interested in offering to serve in this capacity. The person(s) serving in this capacity should have a desire to learn about creating a loving and hospitable environment which is imbued with a spirit of joy, fosters a desire to learn with intensity, and encourages service to others. Tasks will include the setting up of the centre to host events and, once opened, all aspects of the management of the facility – including coordinating bookings, allocation of rooms, overseeing catering, housekeeping and gardening matters, and ensuring all legal aspects and health and safety requirements are adhered to.
The successful candidate will have strong organisational and interpersonal skills, knowledge and experience of the methods and activities of the Five Year Plan, and, if possible, some experience in venue management or in the residential care industry.
This is likely to be a full time role. A salary will be offered to enable successful applicants to serve, as well as the possibility of live-in accommodation within the centre itself. As with all service to the Faith, there is also the opportunity to undertake it on a voluntary or part-voluntary basis.
