Dearly loved Friends,
The National Spiritual Assembly is saddened to share with you the news of the passing of the devoted maidservant of Bahá’u’lláh, Joy Behi.
On learning of Joy’s sudden passing in a road accident, the Universal House of Justice wrote to the National Spiritual Assembly of the Bahá’ís of the United States in a letter of today’s date, offering assurances of prayers “for the progress of her noble soul in the heavenly kingdom.” The letter further stated:
The Universal House of Justice was saddened to learn of the tragic passing of stalwart follower of the Blessed Beauty Joy Behi. May the memory of her many years of dedicated service to the Faith, including as an international pioneer, a member of the National Spiritual Assembly of Poland and of the Auxiliary Board for Protection in that country, be an enduring source of inspiration to all those who knew her.
The National Spiritual Assembly wishes also to pay tribute to Joy’s almost two decades of pioneering work in Wales, from 1973 until her departure for Poland, during which she served the Cause with distinction. She was an outstanding, untiring teacher of the Faith, who touched all she met with her warmth and loving kindness.
The National Assembly is offering prayers for the progress of dear Joy’s luminous soul through all of the worlds of God, and for the comfort of her beloved children, grandchildren, family and friends.
