To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

UK-produced film – Bahá’u’lláh – The Divine Physician

We are delighted to announce the release of a 17-minute-long film, titled Bahá’u’lláh – The Divine Physician, produced here in the United Kingdom for the bicentenary of the Birth of the Blessed Beauty. The film is now available on YouTube at this link: https://youtu.be/Gzs_11Xk6zg Please write to nsa@bahai.org.uk if you require the film in a different format and efforts will be made to facilitate your requirements. [Please note that this is distinct from the film that has been produced by the Bahá’í World Centre, titled Light to the World.]

Here are some more details about the UK film:

Content: Youth and junior youth from diverse backgrounds, and from different parts of the United Kingdom, discuss the problems facing the world today and how Bahá’u’lláh’s message offers a healing remedy to address these issues. Animated sequences illustrate aspects of Bahá’u’lláh’s life, mission and teachings.

Audience: The film is suitable for viewers aged nine years and upwards, including adults. It can be offered to schools for teachers to use in the classroom, and can also be presented in schools by Bahá’í visitors. It could also prove to be a valuable resource for firesides, for home visits – for example with parents of junior youth – or as part of the programme for a public commemoration of the bicentenary.

Supporting material: A document containing advice on how you might use the film in the context of a school visit is available for download here:

The document includes guidance on preparing for and planning a school visit, ideas for activities to support the film in a lesson, and reference to other materials such as the worksheets available to download or in hardcopy from the Warwick Bahá’í Bookshop. Further ideas and materials are being regularly added to the Bahá’í RE website: http://re.bahai/org.uk. The advice should in no way preclude your using the film in whatever way you feel appropriate.

Please feed back to the Bahá’í RE Task Force on opa-re@bahai.org.uk on how you get on, and what useful work comes out of using the film.

The National Assembly is deeply grateful to the film’s dedicated production team, the Religious Education Task Force of the Office of Public Affairs, and the many other friends involved, for the months of time, energy and sacrifice they have given in order to bring this project to fruition. We commend its use to all of the believers and pray that it will assist greatly in bringing the name and mission of Bahá’u’lláh to souls throughout the United Kingdom.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Patrick O’Mara,
Secretary
