Dearly loved Friends,

As this Bahá’í year draws to a close we are pleased to provide you with information concerning the significant dates in the Bahá’í calendar until Naw-Rúz 180 B.E. in 2023.

Ayyám-i-Há this year runs from 25 February – 1 March 2022.  The fasting month begins immediately after Ayyám-i-Há, at sunset on 1 March 2022, and ends at Naw-Rúz 179 B.E. (sunset on 20 March 2022).  The Holy Days for next year are stated below, with commemoration times added where relevant.  The times have been adjusted to accommodate British summer time.

Holy Days on which work is suspended:

  • Twelfth Day of Riḍván on 2 May 2022 (5 Jamál)

  • Martyrdom of the Báb on 10 July 2022 (17 Raḥmat), at about 1 p.m.
  • Birth of the Báb on 26 October 2022 (11 ‘Ilm)
  • Birth of Bahá’u’lláh on 27 October 2022 (12 ‘Ilm)

Holy Days on which work is not suspended:

  • Day of the Covenant on 26 November 2022 (4 Qawl)
  • Ascension of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá on 28 November 2022 (6 Qawl), at 1 a.m.

The commemoration times listed above should be observed, if feasible.  Where no times are specified, the believers are free to gather at any time during the day that they find convenient.

Spirit of service inspires immediate response to
floods in Malaysia

When heavy rainfall caused severe flooding in different regions of Malaysia last month, the spirit of service and collective action that had been fostered through Bahá’í community-building activities in and near affected areas was immediately channeled toward relief efforts.

A message from the Bahá’í Spiritual Assembly of Malaysia called on Bahá’í Local Spiritual Assemblies in that country to follow ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s example, “remembering His all-embracing love for people of all nations, races, and beliefs,” and to “respond to the crying needs of… [their] fellow countrymen at this hour of need.”  Read more, here >
