Dearly loved Friends,
As you are aware, the National Spiritual Assembly has been monitoring the escalating circumstances in relation to the spread of COVID-19 throughout the population of the United Kingdom, and indeed, the rest of the world. In light of recent UK government guidance to refrain from holding large gatherings and to limit all non-essential interactions, the National Assembly, with regret, has decided in consultation with Counsellor Shirin Fozdar-Foroudi – and with the approval of the Universal House of Justice – that it would be wise and appropriate to cancel this year’s Bahá’í National Convention.
The implications of this in relation to the many room reservations already made are being investigated and you will be contacted again with regard to any actions you may need to take. However, if you have booked rooms at a different location, it is suggested you contact that hotel directly.
In light of this cancellation, a postal election for the National Spiritual Assembly has been arranged and it is envisaged that the result will be announced on 25 April 2020.
