Dearly loved Friends,

The National Spiritual Assembly was grieved to learn of the passing of dearly loved Rita Bartlett, a member of the Bahá’í community in Abercarn, Wales, whose noble soul was released from the physical plane in the early hours of 11 December 2013.

An outstanding maidservant of the Abhá Beauty, empathetic, loving, courageous and ever-encouraging to others, Rita consecrated her life to the Cause that she held so dear to her heart. Since joining the ranks of Bahá’u’lláh’s followers in 1966, and in a spirit of utmost humility and reliance upon God, she rendered decades of distinguished service across the United Kingdom, including as a pioneer to the islands of Scotland, as an intrepid travel teacher, as an inspirational speaker, as a representative of the Bahá’í community at prominent State occasions in her home country of Wales and elsewhere, and as a member of the National Spiritual Assembly from 1994 to 2009. Rita was a devoted wife and mother, and she extended care, compassion and a sincere desire to help to all who were in need. Her rich and precious life, her ardent striving to invite others into the Kingdom, the heavenly seeds she has sown in hearts across the United Kingdom, have all left a beautiful and lasting legacy to the community, and have no doubt earned her a bountiful reward in the Divine Realms.

The National Assembly will offer its fervent supplications that Rita’s soul may wing its flight joyously throughout all the worlds of God. Prayers will also be offered for the comfort and solace of those she has left behind, including her beloved husband Viv and her three children Fleur, Leila and Kalim.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

National Spiritual Assembly
