Dearly loved Friends,
The Twin Holy Birthdays of Bahá’u’lláh and the Báb are fast approaching and the National Spiritual Assembly sends you its warmest love during this period of special potency.
Say: This is the Dawn whereat the Most Great Tree was planted and bore its exalted and peerless fruits. By the righteousness of God! Within each fruit of this Tree there repose the seeds of a myriad melodies…All glory be to this Dawn, through which the divine Luminaries have shone forth above the horizon of sanctity by the leave of God, the Almighty, the Inaccessible, the Most High! (Bahá’u’lláh, ‘Lawḥ-i-Mawlúd’, Days of Remembrance, 210)
This year, the Festivals in honour of the births of the Twin Manifestations of God for this age – two days that Bahá’u’lláh affirmed in His Most Holy Book “are accounted as one in the sight of God” – will fall on 9 and 10 November. These Holy Days are observed as beginning at sunset on the evening before the dates listed above, and ending on these dates at sunset. The beloved Guardian “advised that refraining from work and gathering for observances are required on both days.” (Universal House of Justice, 8 September 2015, To all National Spiritual Assemblies)
As the momentum builds between last October’s flourishing of bicentenary activities to next year’s 200th anniversary of the Birth of the Báb, the Twin Holy Birthdays this year offer the friends “a valuable opportunity to draw on the rich experience they gained last year by bringing people together in local celebrations that uplift hearts and kindle spirits.” (Universal House of Justice, 1 June 2018, To all National Spiritual Assemblies)
The Universal House of Justice has told us:
“The friends should regard the Twin Festivals as a sacred moment to gather and strengthen the devotional and social life of the community and as a priceless opportunity to reach out to friends, family, and the wider society and share with them the significance of the lives and missions of these two most precious Beings.” (8 September 2015)
Please be assured of the ardent prayers of the National Assembly on your behalf that you may all be immersed in the divine grace, and the presence of Bahá’u’lláh and the Báb be felt by all who are touched by your efforts in the coming days.
