Bahá’í World Centre – staffing needs

There is an ongoing need at the Baha’i World Centre for individuals who possess the relevant training and experience to fill the following positions:

General Assistant
The General Assistant assists in maintaining the Arc buildings, moving furniture, setting up new office space and moving offices as needed. Delivers paper and other office supplies to the offices and assists the Fleet Administrator with maintaining the car pool. Needs to be physically fit, with a cooperative and flexible attitude. Some computer and handy-man skills are desirable.

Translator (Persian, French, Spanish, or Arabic)
The Translator provides literal or summary translations of incoming documents; and provides accurate translations of outgoing messages from the Universal House of Justice and designated Offices. Needs to use Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook, and must have excellent written English and source language skills. Prior experience in written translation or post-secondary education in translation is preferred. Baha’i administrative experience is desirable.

Administrative Assistant
The Administrative Assistant provides the Office with secretarial and administrative support to ensure its efficient functioning. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite including MS Word and Outlook desired. Must be fluent in English, be detail oriented, have drafting and editing experience, be mature and show discretion in handling confidential documents, have the ability to prioritize and to work independently.

Legal Assistant
The Legal Assistant assists the Chief Legal Officer and the Senior Legal Officer in their functions by managing all the insurance-related litigation, maintaining databases, overseeing the secretarial work and ensuring all the administrative functions of the Office are efficiently organized and updated. Required to be computer literate, have organizational skills and be detail- oriented.

Recruiter
The Recruiter is responsible for ensuring the timely filling of positions with suitable staff. The position requires a mature individual, with good knowledge of written and spoken English, and communication skills. Must be able to work independently as well as in a group, have the ability to maintain confidentiality, direct work flow, and monitor several tasks simultaneously. Attention to detail, flexibility, tact, good organizational skills, the ability to perform clerical tasks and work with computer programmes, preferably Microsoft Office products, are also essential.
