To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

Further to our letter of 3 October 2017, we are happy to be able to share more information about the special cabinet at the British Museum in London, marking the bicentenary of the Birth of Bahá’u’llah.

The display, which opens to the public on Tuesday 7 November, will be in the John Addis Gallery, close to the Museum’s northern entrance on Montague Place. The closest underground station is Russell Square on the Piccadilly Line. The museum is open daily from 1000-1730hrs, and until 2030hrs on Fridays. It is anticipated that the Bahá’í cabinet will be in place until the end of January 2018; we will notify you in due course of its last date. Please note that the Museum is closed 24, 25 and 26 December and 1 January. Admission is free.

An article on the display will also be posted on the Museum’s website in its ‘Objects in Focus’ section, which can be accessed here: https://blog.britishmuseum.org/category/objects-in-focus/

The National Assembly hopes that as many friends as possible will be able to view the priceless items that have been loaned by the Universal House of Justice for this display, as well as other pieces from the Museum’s own collection and our own National Bahá’í Archives. You may wish to consider coming in groups, as communities, with friends whose interest in the Faith may have been ignited or deepened by the recent bicentenary activities. This could be combined with an opportunity to visit the Guardian’s Resting Place and/or the National Ḥazíratu’l-Quds. In the latter case, kindly notify the staff at services@bahai.org.uk with details of the size of your group and when you are planning to visit 27 Rutland Gate so that suitable arrangements can be made to welcome you.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Patrick O’Mara,
Secretary
