To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

It is with great joy that the National Spiritual Assembly is able to share with you the news that – as a result of your continuous and sacrificial contributions – the Guardian’s Resting Place Endowment Fund has reached its target of £1.3 million.

Ten years ago, the National Assembly decided to create an endowment fund that would generate an annual income to look after the day-to-day running of the Guardian’s Resting Place – this precious trust in our midst.  The goal of £1.3 million was set to be reached by Riḍván 2021. This target has now been achieved, nine months ahead of schedule.

While contributions to the maintenance, long term upkeep and future developments at the Resting Place are still welcome, the National Assembly will ensure that the endowment total is never reduced and is wisely invested to help contribute to such costs.

The friends will be aware that, during the last few years, a number of major projects have been carried out to refurbish the Guardian’s Resting Place and its enclosure, to enhance and beautify its environs, and improve the facilities for those who serve there.  The final stage of landscaping the area along the perimeter fence is still in progress.  A video detailing the recent work at the cemetery and encouraging the friends to visit can be viewed here>

Now that the Guardian’s Resting Place has reopened, it is a great blessing that the believers and their friends are returning to pray at this sacred spot.  May all of our prayers call down the confirmations of Bahá’u’lláh to assist in the successful achievement of many more remarkable goals by the end of the Five Year Plan.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Darren Smith,
Treasurer
