To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

With saddened hearts, the National Spiritual Assembly wishes to inform the friends of the sad news of the passing of Knight of Bahá’u’lláh Roushan Knox, who lived in Honiton, Devon. The Universal House of Justice, in a letter dated 2 August 2016 written on its behalf, referred to Roushan as a “devoted handmaiden of the Blessed Beauty, whose pioneering to Goa during the Ten Year Crusade won her the immortal distinction of being designated a Knight of Bahá’u’lláh.”

Roushan was a wonderfully kind and hospitable soul, whose life of devotion to the Faith found expression in many areas of service: as a member of the National Youth Committee in India; as a pioneer in Goa in 1954-55; as a homefront pioneer in the UK in Edinburgh and Winchester; and as a member of the team serving at the National Bahá’í Centre. Her many efforts to contribute to the work of Bahá’í administration and to foster community life will also be fondly remembered.

The funeral will take place on Tuesday 9 August at 1pm at St Michael Churchyard, Top of Church Hill, Honiton, Devon EX14 9TE.

The National Assembly will offer its fervent prayers on behalf of Roushan, that her noble soul may advance joyfully throughout the divine realms. Our supplications will also be offered on behalf of her family and loved ones, including her beloved husband Dermod and their two sons.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Patrick O’Mara,
Secretary
