To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

The National Spiritual Assembly was saddened to hear of the recent passing of Yvonne Macdonald. Yvonne became a Bahá’í, together with her husband Charles, in 1956 and for sixty years served Bahá’u’lláh with radiance and dedication. As a pioneer, she served with distinction on the homefront and overseas in Belfast and Motherwell, as well as in India and Cyprus. Yvonne had a ready acceptance and love for everyone she met, and an empathy for people that made her a gentle and loving teacher of the Faith. She will be remembered for her humility, unfailing patience and for her wisdom which was never imposed; it shone through her actions and the qualities she manifested. Yvonne graced everyone she met with her love, kindness and generosity of spirit, and cheered their hearts with her gentle humour.

The love, sympathy and prayers of the National Spiritual Assembly are with her son Iain and his family during this time of sorrow, and it will remember in its prayers the progress of Yvonne’s soul as she embarks upon the next stage of her spiritual journey.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

National Spiritual Assembly

Patrick O’Mara,
Secretary
