To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

As you may be aware, the National Spiritual Assembly of the United Kingdom is one of a number of National Assemblies selected by the Universal House of Justice to participate in the international financial collaboration programme.  This means the National Assembly is entrusted, at the direction of the House of Justice, to periodically assist its sister National Assemblies around the world in financial undertakings.

The National Assembly is delighted to inform you that the House of Justice has called upon this community along with a number of others across the world, to financially assist the National Spiritual Assembly of the Democratic Republic of the Congo with the renovation of seven buildings associated with its National Haziratu’l-Quds at a cost of around £84,000.

The National Spiritual Assembly set a goal to raise £270,000 – £54,000 per annum – for international collaboration goals during the current Five Year Plan 2016-2021. Presently there is £148,435.25 in that fund; £12,894 of which has been raised this year.  In addition to the above, contributions have already been assigned during this Plan to: assisting in the costs of the National Ḥazíratu’l-Quds in Nepal, as well as construction of a boundary wall for its Temple site; projects in Liberia; funds for the National Spiritual Assembly of Burkina for the construction of Bahá’í centres in Baskuy and Boulmiougou and the protection of several properties, including its Temple land; and the completion of the National Ḥazíratu’l-Quds in the Bahamas. All of these projects – including the DRC – have cost a total of £238,369 and have come from the sacrificial contributions of the believers in this community.

Our community is greatly blessed to be assigned this opportunity to show loving support to our Bahá’í brothers and sisters in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Patrick O’Mara,
Secretary
