To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

As you are aware, the National Spiritual Assembly of the United Kingdom is one of a number of National Assemblies selected by the Universal House of Justice to participate in the international financial collaboration programme. This means the National Assembly is entrusted, at the direction of the House of Justice, to periodically assist its sister National Assemblies around the world with financial undertakings.

We are delighted to inform you that the House of Justice has now asked that our community contribute financial assistance of US$36,000 (£26,361) to the National Spiritual Assembly of Ghana for the renovation of its multi-purpose facility, located in the suburb of Mataheko in Accra. We are joining with the National Spiritual Assemblies of Australia and the United States in this endeavour.

As the friends were previously informed, in our letter of 14 December 2020 [GC-35374], the goal set for the current Five Year Plan to raise £270,000 for international collaboration goals has been met. In addition to the above request, contributions have already been assigned during this Plan to: assisting the National Spiritual Assembly of Egypt with costs associated with the construction of its National Ḥaẓíratu’l-Quds; contributing to the costs of the National Ḥazíratu’l-Quds in Nepal, as well as construction of a boundary wall for its Temple site; projects in Liberia; funds for the National Spiritual Assembly of Burkina for the construction of Bahá’í centres in Baskuy and Boulmiougou and the protection of several properties, including its Temple land; and the completion of the National Ḥazíratu’l-Quds in the Bahamas and the DRC. All of these have been met from the sacrificial contributions of the believers in this community for which the National Spiritual Assembly is truly grateful.

Our community is greatly blessed to be assigned this opportunity to show loving support to our Bahá’í brothers and sisters in Ghana.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Patrick O’Mara,
Secretary

Service opportunity: Environment, Health & Safety Officer

The National Spiritual Assembly is seeking a volunteer with an interest and/or expertise in the areas of Environment, Health and Safety to review and implement its policies in this regard.  This part-time role will require occasional visits to the National Bahá’í Centre, as and when circumstances allow, to work with staff members.

The position would be ideally suitable for a believer who has been working in this field professionally and who is familiar with operational aspects and compliance of Health and Safety regulations in an office environment.  However it may also suit someone who has a desire to learn new skills that can be applied in a Bahá’í setting.

Friends interested to learn more, or who wish to apply for the position, are encouraged to send an email to nsa@bahai.org.uk.
