Coordinator of General Services – service opportunity at the National Bahá’í Centre

Dearly loved friends,

The National Assembly is pleased to share with you, news of a service position that has opened up at the National Bahá’í Office at 27 Rutland gate in London. The position being advertised is for the role of the Coordinator of General Services. Please find below a short service description for this role:

Reporting directly to and working with the Secretary of the National Spiritual Assembly, the post holder is responsible for ensuring the smooth functioning of all office and building services coordinated from the National Hazíratu’l-Quds. This is a highly responsible full-time position requiring the capacity to coordinate a team and accompany others in a manner that fosters a spirit of service, learning, joy, focus and commitment within the work environment.  The role also requires one to have a practical outlook, good communication skills and the ability to systematically plan, organise and prioritise a wide range of tasks. It would be important also for candidates to have a grasp of and be engaged in the work of the Five-Year Plan, as well as an understanding of the functioning of the Bahá’í Administrative order.

A salary is offered to enable a successful applicant carry out this service.  As with all service to the Faith, there is also the opportunity to undertake it on a voluntary basis or part-voluntary basis.  The initial service period is two-years, subject to review at the end of the period.

It is the ardent hope of the National Spiritual Assembly that souls will arise to fill this important need within the National Office. Undoubtedly this will entail certain sacrifices on their part, but there is surely such great joy and privilege in dedicating a period of one’s life to the noble aim of building the civilisation envisaged by Baha’u’llah.
