Vacancy for IT Officer
The National Spiritual Assembly is seeking to appoint an IT Officer, based at the National Ḥazíratu’l-Quds. The position is to support internal and external IT users, internal infrastructure, and to recommend and deploy approved service improvements.
This is a technically interesting and wide-ranging role which includes desktop and LAN infrastructure support, Office 365 administration and network security, supported by a group of Specialist Volunteers.
Knowledge of two or three of the technical areas listed below would be essential and with a strong desire to learn others.
- Support of PC hardware running Windows 10 and Office 2016 with desktop and laptop deployments.
- Windows Server 20xx managed by virtualised XEN Server running on Dell server hardware
- SharePoint/Online Administration
- Office 365 Administration including e-mail integration with Microsoft AD
- Ethernet and wireless LAN technology
- Good understanding of IT Security issues
- An understanding of the following technologies would be an advantage, but not essential:
Windows PowerShell script support for automated tasks.
- Microsoft SQL
- Microsoft Access
The role will require good technical capabilities and the ability to take initiative, combined with a caring and loving attitude towards service. Applicants with several years’ experience in this area, who would like to serve for an initial period of two years, are welcome to apply. This is a full-time role, based at the National Office. A salary is offered to enable successful applicants but as with all service to the Faith, there is also the opportunity to undertake it on a voluntary or part-voluntary basis.
