Dearest friends,

Invitation for Applications

“…There is nothing that brings success in the Faith like service. Service is the magnet which draws the Divine Confirmations. Thus, when a person is active, they are blessed by the Holy Spirit. When they are inactive, the Holy Spirit cannot find a repository in their being, and thus they are deprived of its healing and quickening rays.” (On behalf of Shoghi Effendi, July 2, 1952)

The Council is delighted to share with you details of two service positions which have opened up. These posts could be filled by two individuals, or one person could carry out both remits if they feel they could fulfil the demands of both roles. Detailed descriptions of each role are attached to this email.

1. Secretariat Aide to the Bahá’í Council for Scotland
The Council envisages that this will be a 0.4 part time position (equivalent to 2 full days), spread out over the week and involving occasional weekend commitments. A salary is offered to enable the individual chosen to carry out this service. However, as with all service to the Faith, the work may also be carried out on a voluntary or part-voluntary basis. The initial service period is one year, subject to review at the end of the period.

2. Regional Statistics Officer
The role demands a small but regular commitment by the person who accepts to serve. The Regional Statistics Officer can expect to spend an average of 10 to 20 hours a month on the service, which will involve computer-based operations, email/telephone communication, and travel across the country, when required. It is envisaged that this role will be undertaken on a voluntary basis.

If you would like to learn more about either position, please contact the Council Secretary at bcs.secretary@bahai.org.uk.

Any individual who would like to apply for either role is asked to kindly submit a letter summarising their skills, aptitudes, qualities and experience to send to the Council c/o 41 Millar Pl, Stirling Scotland FK8 1XB, or by email to bcs.secretary@bahai.org.uk.

The closing date for applications is Saturday 10th December.

Your prayerful consideration of this opportunity for service is deeply appreciated by the Council. If you know of any believers who do not have access to email, please consider sharing this with them by other means.

With loving Baha’i greetings,

Baha’i Council for Scotland
