To all believers in the United Kingdom
Dearly loved Friends,
The National Spiritual Assembly would like to share the following message, received today from the Department of the Secretariat of the Universal House of Justice, concerning the passing of the much-loved believer, James Holmlund:
The Universal House of Justice was saddened to learn from your email letter dated 12 March 2018 (11 ‘Alá’ 174) of the passing of faithful servant of the Cause James Holmlund. May his steadfast service to the Faith, including as an international pioneer and an Auxiliary Board member in Italy for many years, be a source of inspiration to all those who knew him. Kindly convey the loving sympathy of the House of Justice to his wife, children, and other family members for the loss they have suffered and assure them of its supplications in the Holy Shrines for the progress of his devoted soul throughout the heavenly realms. Prayers will also be offered that, through the sustaining grace of the Blessed Beauty, they may find comfort and solace at this time of bereavement.
James will be remembered as one of the pillars of the Bahá’í community in Northern Ireland, serving with devotion and distinction on various institutions for more than three decades. His love of teaching, his kindness, his gentle humour and his encouragement of the friends in their activities and services – all of these sterling qualities endeared James to each and every one of the believers.
The National Assembly is also praying for James’s progress through all the realms of God, and for the comfort of his dear wife Hazel, his children Dorothy, Michael and Kathleen, and four grandchildren.
With loving Bahá’í greetings,
Patrick O’Mara,
Secretary
