To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

Through its many historical associations with the Central Figures of our Faith, the beloved Guardian, the Universal House of Justice and the Hands of the Cause of God, the Bahá’í community in the United Kingdom has been exceedingly blessed. With reference to some of these links, the National Spiritual Assembly is delighted to share with the community a special slideshow presentation concerning three spiritually significant locations within this country. The presentation contains some previously unseen pictures of the refurbishments and plans for the Guardian’s Resting Place and 17 Royal York Crescent in Bristol, as well as images of the UK Temple Land on the banks of the Thames near Reading, which was acquired in the 1950s as a goal of the Ten Year Crusade and represents a token towards the future construction of a Mashriqu’l-Adhkár in this community. It is hoped that this presentation will offer insights into both the unique history of the Faith in the United Kingdom and the continual endeavours undertaken to care for the places associated with its illustrious past.

The complete PowerPoint presentation is too large to share by email, but it can be downloaded from the UK Bahá’í Resources website using the following link:

In connection with the slideshow, please find enclosed copies of two documents, one providing copies of the presentation’s slides in miniature and the other a set of notes containing further information on the slides. It is envisaged that these could be drawn upon to assist in providing commentary on the slides, should any of the friends wish to gather to view them together, for example at a Nineteen Day Feast.

It is hoped that this presentation will serve as an inspiring tool for raising awareness of the substantial efforts that are being made to preserve and care for these unique, historic and sacred sites.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Patrick O’Mara,
Secretary
