Position: Principal, Full-Time
Location: Chisamba, Zambia
Commitment period: 3 – 5 years

Banani International Secondary School is a Baha’i’ inspired boarding school for girls. The school is known for its strong academic, social and character development programmes.

The School is considered to be one of the main avenues of service the Bahá’í community in Zambia offers towards the betterment of the society.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee academic and administrative structures of the School, as well as staff recruitment
  • Oversee the implementation of an effective staff development programme
  • Oversee the management of campus and building facilities
  • Liaise with parents on a regular basis in all academic, social and financial matters of import
  • Sustain and expand links with other schools and relevant organizations and/or individuals
  • Maintain an effective and harmonious working environment at the school

Skills & Qualifications required

A Bahá’í in good standing, who strives to acquire the following qualities:

  • An in-depth understanding of the Bahá’í teachings and the ability to apply spiritual principles tothe responsibilities of the position.
  • Ability to demonstrate behaviour which meets Bahá’í standards and serves as a model to the staff and parents
  • A Degree in education, Social sciences, or related field
  • Minimum of 10 years’ work experience in the field of education, preferably in a management capacity.
  • Ability to work well with a team in a multicultural setting
  • Good interpersonal communication skills and ability to exercise good judgment
  • Strong organizational ability to plan strategically within established priorities and policies
  • Excellent time management skills; well-developed ability to prioritize among competing demands
