To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

[PLEASE SHARE THIS NEWS ITEMS WITH OTHERS]

The National Spiritual Assembly is calling for your participation in a global Twitter Storm this Friday 13 May, which will last throughout the day and especially during the hours from 13:00 to 15:00.

The National Assembly asks that you and others in your community, including non-Bahá’í collaborators, be asked to tweet about the ‘Enough!’ campaign. This worldwide initiative commemorates the eighth anniversary of the arrest of the seven imprisoned Iranian Bahá’í leaders. The Tweet storm will use the hashtag #ReleaseBahai7Now throughout the day.

Social Media Cards

Enclosed are a set of “social media cards” designed to be uploaded and attached when posting to social media, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and others. Please note that the cards need not be included with every tweet or posting, and participants should feel free to tweet or post on their own as well. It is very important to use the hashtag in the main body of the Tweet or FB posting, even though the hashtag also appears on the card.

The Facebook (marked FB) cards and the Twitter (marked Twitter) cards are basically identical except they have been sized differently for the two main social media outlets. They are in the preferred PNG format for social media.

Including the URL to the Bahá’í International Community campaign page and their website as much as possible is highly encouraged. This links viewers to more information. The following compressed URL helps to track the progress of this campaign: http://po.st/kyC6VZ

However, you could also point to the regular URL for the page, which is:

Videos

There are also several short videos being produced which, it is hoped, will be completed by tomorrow, Friday, and the links to these will be distributed so that they can be tweeted or posted too.

The overall hope is to create enough traffic with the #ReleaseBahai7Now hashtag for it to “trend” on Twitter and, perhaps, draw greater attention to this important campaign. Thus we warmly encourage you to reach out, especially to social media users with large followings, in this effort.

Your support of this important campaign is deeply appreciated.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Patrick O’Mara,
Secretary
