To all believers in the United Kingdom

Dearly loved Friends,

On 29 August 2019, the National Spiritual Assembly reminded the friends of two highly significant projects that our community has embarked upon, as well as the thrilling response seen at some of the recent summer schools where this news was shared. An initial goal of £95,000 was set and participants at three of the schools contributed £85,000, with a further £150,000 being met by a fourth. Thus, a total of £235,000 was contributed.

The National Assembly then called upon the whole community to contribute to these projects in the lead up to the Feast of Mashíyyat – with the goal set of universal participation and a target of £475,000.

We are now pleased to announce that as a result of this appeal, a total of £364,257 has been raised.

Although short of the target of £475,000, this is a deeply appreciated, wonderful outpouring of funds from the friends for these two projects.

Over recent weeks, we have shared some quotations and stories that assisted reflection upon the sacred obligation of contributing to the Fund. You may wish to share these once more at the upcoming Feast.

All energies are now focussed on the conversations surrounding, and preparations for, the bicentenary of the Birth of the Báb.  Once this auspicious occasion has been celebrated, the friends will no doubt be inspired further to continue to raise funds for these wonderful projects, which will truly be of benefit to the growth of the Faith in the United Kingdom.

With loving Bahá’í greetings,

Darren Smith,
Treasurer
