Youth Gatherings in May

Every Bahá’í between the ages of 15 and 30 in England, Scotland and Wales should by now have received an invitation to the special day-long gatherings, titled A Call to Heroism. The meetings are being held in London, Manchester and Oxford on Saturday 5 May. In a change to the previously announced date, the event in Edinburgh will now take place on Saturday 19 May.

The National Spiritual Assembly has called for a very special, inspirational programme to close each of the gatherings. In London, all participants will proceed to the Resting Place of the beloved Guardian for prayers. In Oxford, the youth will gather for a devotional in the chapel of Balliol College, where Shoghi Effendi studied. Plans for Manchester and Edinburgh will be announced shortly.

If you are aware of any youth who has not yet received an invitation, please inform nsa@bahai.org.uk.

Secretariat Aide to the Bahá’í Council for Wales

The Bahá’í Council for Wales is seeking applications for the role of Secretariat Aide, to start in May 2018. The Aide supports the Secretary in executing the decisions of the Council and assists with the flow of information and stories, organises the logistics of events and meetings, and manages the Statistical Report Programme. The time commitment is approximately 15 hours per week – three hours per day, five days a week, or two 7½ hour days per week – and occasional weekend commitments. Strengthening the spiritual education of children seminar

The Training Institute Board for England is inviting all who are running children’s classes, or interested in running one, to a seminar on strengthening the spiritual education of children. It will take place in Milton Keynes on 16-17 June. The purpose of the seminar is to raise capacity – and enthusiasm – to hold children’s classes, and practice our conversations about the nature of Bahá’í children’s classes with parents. Further details will be shared in due course.
